This blog describes the building of an off grid passive solar monolithic dome. After the building of the dome is finished, I will write about living off the grid, wind and solar power, energy efficiency, sustainable living and growing organic food. The wind turbine was inserted in the end of the tower and bolted on. The tail piece was attached and the blades were attached to the wind turbine. The details are covered in the installation manual from Southwest Wind Power.

My husband and I started building our off grid monolithic dome in 2005. We had the shell built for us, but we are finishing the inside ourselves. This blog is the story of the construction of the dome and living off the grid.
