This blog describes the building of an off grid passive solar monolithic dome. After the building of the dome is finished, I will write about living off the grid, wind and solar power, energy efficiency, sustainable living and growing organic food. A couple of nice spring days allowed us to put the metal siding on the west wall. We still have some trim to do. Then we will start on the doors and windows.

My husband and I started building our off grid monolithic dome in 2005. We had the shell built for us, but we are finishing the inside ourselves. This blog is the story of the construction of the dome and living off the grid.
