Preparations for construction
Once my husband finished the floor plan, it was sent to Canadian Dome Industries. After they reviewed it, they sent it to the Monolithic Dome Institute for the outer skin or "air form" to be sewn.
Before construction could begin, the site would have to be leveled, the rough plumbing would have to be dug in and the window frames or window "bucks" would have to be built. These were all things that my husband wanted to do, so he worked out the details with Canadian Dome Industries. As for permits, a development had to be obtained from the county, a sanitary permit was obtained, and a plumbing permit was obtained. Later on, a gas permit was obtained.
